          Changing the Default Page Without Registry Edits<\/h2>\n

          Not a fan of messing with the Registry? No biggie. You can just change the default page that File Explorer opens to without removing the Home entry entirely. It\u2019s not as clean, but it\u2019s quicker and safer, especially if Registry fiddling makes you nervous.<\/p>\n

          1<\/strong>. Open File Explorer, click on the three-dot menu (the ellipsis) at the top, then choose Options<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

          2<\/strong>. Under the General<\/strong> tab, find the setting called Open File Explorer to<\/strong>. Change it from Home<\/strong> to This PC<\/strong> or whatever folder you prefer.<\/p>\n

          3<\/strong>. Hit Apply<\/strong> and then OK<\/strong>. Now, next time you open File Explorer, it\u2019ll go straight to your preferred location, no fuss.<\/p>\n

          Generally, this doesn\u2019t remove the Home button, but it\u2019s a decent workaround if hiding it is enough. Usually, folks just want a less cluttered sidebar, and this method keeps it simple without messing with registry keys.<\/p>\n

          Sometimes, Windows still reverts back after upgrades or updates\u2014so be aware that some tweaks might need repeating after a big update. But overall, these tricks should help clean up the navigation pane, and at least keep the clutter out of sight.<\/p>\n
